Based in Vienna, Austria, Furnis Spielwelt began in 1993 by importing high quality educational wooden toys. With the opening of Asian manufacturing capabilities, Furnis began their own production, always on the lookout for innovative design. Constant contact with their young customers, who tested their products for hours, showed them what makes a good toy and helped them understand the world of childhood. A new material appeared on the market just as they found the right partner for the production of Furnis animals and dolls in Asia. A unique blend of different cotton and polyester weaves makes their creations especially durable and useful for environments such as child day care centers. They are washable and due to the high quality lining and stuffing, their original shape is retained. Many of their award-winning designs are now the classics of the toy sector.
Furnis guarantees that all of their toys are made in humane conditions and do not involve child labor in any way. Their guiding philosophy throughout their design and production process is "so that our children will better understand the world."
Furnis takes special pride in developing natural toys that are safe for kids and our world. Their toys meet or exceed ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) and EN 71 (European Standards), as well as the Oeko Tex standards of textiles.
